A 5.1-magnitude quake rattles the region, leaving residents shaken but safe
As Southern California braced for a highly unusual summer storm Sunday afternoon, residents were rocked by a magnitude 5.1 earthquake that struck near Ojai. The quake, which occurred at 4:44 p.m. local time, was felt across the region, from Los Angeles to San Diego.

Southern California is located on the San Andreas Fault, one of the most active seismic faults in the world.
