A wildfire has reached the Canadian town of Jasper, Alberta, on Wednesday evening local time, destroying an estimated half of the town and forcing residents to flee.
The fire, which started on Sunday, has already burned through more than 100,000 hectares of land and is now threatening the town of Jasper, home to 4,700 people.
Firefighters are battling to save key facilities, including the Trans Mountain pipeline and the Canadian National Railway, as well as homes and businesses.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
