Kirk Herbstreit Welcomes Oklahoma Legend Adrian Peterson to Guest Pick
Peterson, a Heisman Trophy winner and NFL MVP, will join Herbstreit and the rest of the College GameDay crew in Norman, Oklahoma, for the Week 3 matchup between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Oklahoma Sooners.
College GameDay is coming to Norman, Oklahoma, for the Week 3 matchup between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Oklahoma Sooners, and they’re bringing a special guest with them.
Oklahoma legend Adrian Peterson will be joining Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the College GameDay crew as the guest picker for the game.
Peterson, a Heisman Trophy winner and NFL MVP, is one of the greatest running backs in college football history. He rushed for 1,925 yards and 15 touchdowns in his sophomore season at Oklahoma in 2004, leading the Sooners to a BCS National Championship.
Peterson went on to have a successful NFL career, playing for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions, and Seattle Seahawks.
He was named the NFL MVP in 2012 and was selected to the Pro Bowl seven times.
Peterson retired from the NFL after the 2021 season and is now a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
He will be making his College GameDay debut as a guest picker on Saturday.
The Tennessee-Oklahoma game is one of the most anticipated games of the college football season.
The Volunteers are coming off a big win over the Pittsburgh Panthers in Week 2, while the Sooners are looking to rebound from a loss to the Kansas State Wildcats.
The game will be played at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma, and will be televised on ESPN.
